Terrell Tutt

Terrell Tutt is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Blackgate & Co., a U.S.-based defense and infrastructure company. He leads the firm's strategy, partnerships, federal market development, and long-term growth initiatives.

Raised in a military family, Tutt developed an early appreciation for service, responsibility, and the people entrusted with carrying out difficult missions. Before founding Blackgate, he built and scaled businesses in the real estate and commercial real estate sectors, where he gained firsthand experience in acquisitions, operations, and business growth.

Later, while working alongside a private defense company in specialized operational environments, he was exposed to the realities of supporting complex missions and the challenges faced by the teams, leaders, and organizations responsible for carrying them out. That experience reinforced the importance of the infrastructure, resources, coordination, and support systems that enable mission success, often behind the scenes and out of public view.

Those experiences ultimately led to the creation of Blackgate & Co. Tutt founded the company with the belief that the people responsible for protecting national interests, advancing innovation, and solving difficult problems should have every advantage possible. Today, Blackgate supports defense, infrastructure, and operational initiatives while pursuing opportunities that contribute to capabilities, technologies, and missions larger than any one individual or organization.
